Your day looks like this:
Design, implement, and maintain security systems and solutions to protect company assets;
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions;
Monitor and analyse security events and incidents, providing timely responses and mitigation;
Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines;
Collaborate with IT and other teams to integrate security best practices into all phases of the software development life cycle;
Stay updated with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to ensure proactive protection;
Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees;
Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments;
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber security, or a related field;
Minimum experience of 3 years in Security engineering or a similar role;
Strong knowledge of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption;
Experience with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and PCI-DSS;
Proficiency in security tools and platforms, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management tools;
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to function in a fast-moving environment;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This is how you stand out:
Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus;
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
